MUSIC ON STAGE announces auditions for Disney’s BEAUTY & THE BEAST
Monday November 15th & Tuesday November 16th from 7-10pm at The Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center located at 150 East Wood Street in Palatine, Illinois with callbacks by invitation only on Thursday November 18th at 7pm.
Auditionees should prepare 32 bars of a song that best shows off your voice. If singing something from the show you will be asked to sing in the show key. Also, be prepared to dance.
Beauty & the Beast rehearses Sunday from 2-5pm or 6-10pm and Mon through Thursday from 7-10pm at various locations in Palatine. Rehearsals begin Sunday December 5th and the production schedule is as follows:
Monday January 31st @ 7pm through Friday February 4th @ 7pm NO CONFLICTS ALLOWED DURING TECH and NO MORE THAN 3 CONFLICTS ALLOWED DURING THE REHEARSAL PERIOD
Saturday February 5th @ 8pm Sunday February 6th @ 3pm Saturday February 12th @ 2pm Saturday February 12th @ 8pm Sunday February 13th @ 3pm Saturday February 19th @ 2pm Saturday February 19th @ 8pm Sunday February 20th @ 3pm

26 Performers 16 yrs and older to play 10 principal roles and 16 ensemble roles. Also seeking to cast 1 child 12 years old who can play younger.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS AND VOCAL RANGES
Belle A vibrant, intelligent girl with beauty, who wants more out of the life than an ordinary existence. She is
optimistic, fun-loving, caring, and eager to experience life. Portrayed Female. Range: E3 - F5
Beast A Prince transformed into a terrifying beast for his lack of compassion. He is hottempered and commanding, but has a warm, loving heart buried far beneath his gruff exterior. Portrayed Male. Range: A2 - F4
Gaston The egotistical, ultra-masculine villain determined to marry Belle. He is manipulative yet charming and earnest. Portrayed Male. Range: A2 - E4
Maurice Belle's loving, eccentric father. A child at heart and inventor in his own world. Portrayed Male. Range: Bb2 - Db4
Cogsworth A tightly-wound, enchanted mantle clock and the head of the Beast's household. He is uptight, strict, and punctual but also hard-working, faithful, and thorough. Portrayed Male. Range: A2 - E4
Mrs. Potts A warm-hearted, maternal enchanted teapot. She is loyal, caring, and playful. Portrayed Female. Range: F#3 - G5
Lumiere A suave, debonair enchanted candelabra. He is a loyal and steadfast servant. Portrayed Male. Range: F#2 - F#4
Chip An enchanted teacup and Mrs. Potts' darling little boy. He is innocent, playful, and bright-eyed. Portrayed Male. Range: A3 - F5
Babette A saucy, enchanted feather-duster, and the object of Lumiere's affections. She is a playful, gorgeous French maid. Portrayed Female. Range: C4 - F5
Madame De La Grande Bouche (Wardrobe) A former opera diva-turned-enchanted wardrobe. She has a caring, refined, larger than life personality. Portrayed Female. Range: C#4 - D5
Lefou Gaston's bumbling sidekick. He is loyal, energetic, and optimistic, but not quite the brightest guy. Portrayed Male. Range: B2 - F#4
Monsieur D'arque The scheming proprietor of the local insane asylum. He is a dark, sinister villain who aides Gaston in his plot to marry Belle. Portrayed Male. Range: D3 - A4
